Scribble it down

Do you remember being a kid in grade school and your teacher asked you to draw a picture of your family?
We would draw our family, pets and pictures of things that meant something to us, a house, bikes or toys.
I can recall my drawing, my dad, my mom and a scrawny little picture of myself.  Now here's the crazy part, we had to write the names of the people under the characters we drew.  I wrote my name, my dad's name and underneath my mom I wrote my aunt's name.  I was afraid people would laugh at me because my mom had an English name and I went to a french school, I got in so much trouble for drawing that picture.  It makes me laugh now, but my mom must have been devastated, sorry mom!

I give you that little story because we always worry how people see us and how they will judge us.  We also draw what we see in our minds.  It brings me to today's little exercise.  I want you to get a spiral notebook, a piece of paper or a hard bound journal, something to write on.  You may need lots of paper, turn the computer off and try not to type it out, get a pen or pencil.  I want you to write out your ideal life, the life you want from now on.  It's a game of fantasy, that can give you great gains in the future.  Write out your dreams, your goals and things you think may be impossible.  I want you to goes as far as possible in your life, till your 100 years old if you have to.

This next part can be hard to understand.  Be selfish in your writing, what I mean by this is write how YOU will be, how YOU will act and how YOU will live the dream.  Why would you do this?  Simple, it's about changing yourself, your not in the business of changing how people around you act.  When you change, slowly people around you change too.  Please, just focus on yourself!  Another great thing about this is it should be very personal.  Showing or telling other people around you is not allowed.  If you tell or show people around you they will tell you that these things are not possible, then you will automatically tell yourself the same, it's just how our mind works.

I must admit the first few times I attempted this, I gave myself limits.  I told myself I didn't deserve what I was going to write down.  Put those thoughts on the back burner.  By writing things out, they tend to happen. I've seen my wife write things out, several of the things just started popping into her life.  It extraordinary, just start writing.

Do this when your ready, think about it a little and whenever the ideas start flowing into your head, pour them out on the page.  I prefer writing at bedtime and first thing in the morning, you may enjoy this as your on your lunch hour.  Remember no rules, have fun.

Stay motivated
